TILL I.D. GmbH 
Since the year 2000, TILL I.D. develops and validates concepts for light microscopy on living cells. After proof of principle, successful approaches will be licensed to partner companies - in particular to the sister company TILL Photonics (www.till-photonics.com) - which are responsible for the subsequent product development based on the concepts and the production and marketing of the instruments. All microscope platform concepts of TILL Photonics have been generated in this way, furthermore a multitude of components integrated into the platform concept, which constitute the special features of the TILL platform. Currently, TILL I.D. holds a constantly growing patent portfolio of 25 patents.
Current projects are executed in close collaboration with the BioImaging Center (BIZ) of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich (www.biz.uni-muenchen.de), whose core competence lies in the (further) development of microscopy techniques and which validates the concepts designed by TILL I.D. with respect to their applicability for scientific problems. The main interest of the BIZ is focused on the analysis of neuronal growth.
Fields of activity:
- Conception and prototype construction of confocal microscopes with spectral resolution, i.e. development and validation of a laser-based polychromatic instrument for fluorescence measurements, which can be used to follow dynamic intracellular processes in three dimensions
- Conception and prototype construction of a completely automated microscope for screening applications on fluorescent samples, which can be also applied in sterile laboratories
- Conception and prototype construction of novel light sources for fluorescence microscopy
